They keep doing the stupid mumbo jumbo numbers on the DVR all night. Each time it is done, it starts over!

I don't like how you can't see what's on another channel without opening up the menu/guide button
Oh, the horror! I vividly remember when there were 4 VHF and 2 UHF channels in Oklahoma City and you got up out of your chair to simply change the channel. Now a remote's not enough, we need menu guides, picture-in-picture, and by the way --- how could you see what's on another channel without using the menu/guide button? It's a different world.
I used to be less than happy with Cox, then I switched to U-verse about 18 months back. Since then, Cox is just another name for the Myriad.
I do miss the ability to do that...not sure why they took that out.
But you can change colors. That was the first thing we did...it's on the same menu it was before. We don't have a DVR or High-Def...just regular digital cable though. Could be different on the other boxes.
I do like the expanded descriptions. That works much better than it did before. It also seems to move more quickly between menus. Before the update, our box started having some major lag issues. That used to mean we were going to have to trade it out soon. Since the upgrade, all of the lag has dissapeared.
We can still scream at them to restore some features. They are bound to obey us.
Nah, not really. They're a national company, and most folks think the change is good. You're no more likely to see them go back to the Atari style menus of the mid-90's than go back to last year's version. Sorry.
Just be glad you don't have Comcast.
I was very disappointed when Cox moved the DIY channel to a package that costs an additional $6.00 a month. Complaining got me no where. I have the bundle with them so I already pay plenty. An additional $6.00 doesn't seem that much but it's kinda the last straw. I don't want to pay more for something I was getting already. What's next.... HGTV?
Anyone else have no Internet service ever since the icestorm?
Online Outage map shows large portion of OKC and near Phoenix, AZ.
Their social media alias on twitter is saying they will prorate November/December bills.
I haven't had any issues. I am sure like with OG&E, some of their infrastructure was damaged (since it usually hangs from the same power poles the electric lines do).
The previous owners of my house must have used COX cable, as there are cable outlets throughout the house and a cable line running from the pole, but we don't subscribe. The ice storm knocked a branch off one of my pecan trees, which snapped the cable from the pole. Since I don't subscribe to COX, are they still the resource to use for taking care of that, or should I just cut it where it meets the house and forget about it?
