Yup. Some folks would just take the SEC rankings as #1-14, and start with Oregon at 15 and Ohio State at 16...
After today, I'm thinking Alabama, Oregon and FSU are all on the same level, then there is a slight step down with Ohio State and maybe Missouri and Baylor. After that, it's a crap shoot.
I don't really see it as a slight step down for tOSU. They have been playing close to just about everyone.
Kind of interesting how many of the pundits though the Big 12 escapees A&M and Mizzou were going to be nothing but door mats in the SEC. It shows the Big 12 wasn't as bad as they thought (back then)...of course this season, the conference is bad.
During the game today they were talking about how Baylor is one of THE teams to watch over the next few years. You think about it, it's very impressive to compete in the state of Texas from Waco. But they said they have some incredible new facilities being built, a new state-of-the-art stadium, and some top recruiting classes in Football and Men's and Women's Basketball. Set up to be a conference power if not a national player in the coming years.
Projected BCS rankings are looking really interesting so far. The official rankings will be out later today.
Others of interest...Oklahoma State is #19, Texas #34, TCU is 52, West Virginia is 62, KSU is 79, Kansas is 88, ISU is 101.

OU is now projected up to #12. OSU up to 19th.
Don't know if anyone here has watched Mizzou this season. They are a complete team. That defensive line is the best I have seen from any unit this year,3 potential NFLers. They are relentless. Their WRs are all huge and fast. They have 3 RBs that rotate in and out and all are fast as hell. This is a complete team. look at the turnovers the secondary has. I think it's tops in the nation. I just don't see a lot of weaknesses on that team. Now they bring in their backup QB and he passes for 300 yards on prob. the best defense in college football. They have it going on. It was a huge mistake by the Big XII letting Texas bully and run the conference. Look at the 4 teams that left. A&M-Mizzou-NU are all ranked with only 3 losses between them. Now look what the BigXII brought in. TCU & WVU. What a massive mistake and I seriously believe that the BigXII will not be around in a few years. Texas kiiled the old swc and it appears to me they have done it again with the BigXII. They should have been treated no better than ISU or KSU from the start and none of this would have happened.
As far as rankings go. If OU-Baylor-OSU played in the sec I seriously doubt that they would even be ranked. I watch as many games as possible and the level of play between the BigXII & sec is night and day. The sec is just so much better and it's so easy to see when watching these teams. And I am an old Big 8 Big XII guy.
In years past the SEC wasn't that much better than the Big 12, this year they are better but not as good as they have been in years past. Even Bama doesn't look as much like Bama has in previous seasons. A few years ago when the Big 12 had the offenses rolling there wasn't that much of a discrepancy, now that the SEC has some good QB play we have all seen the defenses struggle in comparison to the teams a few years ago.
In some ways I still wish the jump to the Pac 12 would have happened even though I would have preferred going to the SEC. If for anything just to dilute the power of Texas and put them back into a SWC situation again. They feel they have to rule everything much to the detriment of their "partners". I still prefer the old Big 8.
Here are the first official rankings for the BCS this season...OU came in lower than earlier projections.

Big 12 football: Expect a downer of a Fiesta Bowl | News OK
I love seeing the "mid majors" break into the BCS, but I was disappointed last season by NIU.
Blech. Any time you get a major traditional power against an upstart, the upstart has "nothing to lose" and the power has little to gain. The Oklahoma - Boise State comes to mind, and even though I consider that one of my all-time favorite games, OU was in a tough spot. The Big 12 is in trouble as far as national perception.
I can't recall a bow bid being accepted in October before. LOL

That will be good for OSU that Texas will be ranked when they play.
If OSU takes care of business from here on out then that's good since all our opponents are ranked...
Just as I suspected, Baylor is up to 4th and withing striking distance of Ohio State for 3rd. A victory over OSU would push them up there. All they need is an upset of one of the top two to be in the chase for the championship game.
NCAA College Football BCS Standings Week 13 - ESPN
Traditionally this coming week is the week of upsets. I predict 2-3 of the undefeated teams will fall. When you get down to the last two games of the season the better teams start getting cocky and screw up one of the last 2-3 games. One of them likely fall to a team they were expected to beat.
Wow...
SEC: unbelievable talk about how Auburn, with one loss in the vaunted SEC, might jump an undefeated Ohio State. Please. What happened to this league's defense?
PAC 12: a home game conference championship game, and you can't even sell out the stadium? What else could be going on in Arizona?
ACC: an FSU loss might be viewed as the biggest upset in college football history. They look really good though...
Big Ten (11): how weak is your conference when a segment of the college football geniuses think a team with zero losses in two years might get leapfrogged by a one loss SEC team? MSU will probably win so all the geniuses can say: "See?"
Big 12 (10): how's this for a Fiesta Bowl draw: Baylor vs UCF. Yay. (At least texas can start to implode now.)
Come on playoff.
If this was next year, what would the top four teams be? Probably better answered tomorrow, but if things go the way I think they will, I say: FSU, Auburn, Alabama, Baylor (or Michigan State or Stanford)
Personally, I'm glad in a horrible way that my Pokes lost to OU. Reason being is that they had us playing Northern IL/Central Florida. I'd rather play someone more interesting.
Side note: OSU screwed themselves over by losing to WVU. We all know that. No tellin if, had they won that game that they would have gone undefeated the rest of the season. It is what it is. So be it. This years bowl game will be better than last year AND this last game will be more enjoyable than all of next year cause 70% of our starters are graduating...
Don't look now but Ohio State's having some major problems with Michigan State.....tho they did just score.
