Top 25 run down for results from Saturday 10/15/11. Shouldn't see much movement in the polls at all in the top 10. Highlights in red indicate a Top 25 team that lost to a lower ranked/unranked team.

    #1 LSU - 38 vs. Tennessee - 7
    #2 Alabama - 52 vs. Mississippi - 7
    #3 Oklahoma - 47 vs. Kansas - 17
    #4 Wisconsin - 59 vs. Indiana - 7
    #5 Boise State - 63 vs. Colorado State - 13
    #6 Oklahoma State - 38 vs. #22 Texas - 26
    #7 Stanford - 44 vs. Washington State - 14
    #8 Clemson 56 vs. Maryland - 45
    #9 Oregon - 41 vs. #18 Arizona State - 27
    #11 Michigan - 14 vs. #23 Michigan State - 28
    #12 Georgia Tech - 21 vs. Virginia - 24
    #15 South Carolina - 14 vs. Mississippi State - 12

I was surprised when I learned about the BCS ranking starting today while watching the game last night. I thought we were dealing with BCS already. Lets hope OU goes straight to the top when its out tonight.

Thunder, that's not going to happen and isn't important at this point. All OU has to do is keep winning and they'll be there.

5 or 6 of the computer rankings go all season long, but they aren't broadcast in the mainstream media. The Harris poll just started last weekend. Today (Sunday) will be the first time the Peter Wolfe computer poll will run and is the last "missing" component to the BCS. The BCS polls I've been posting for the last couple of weeks include only the data that is available.

Well I could see some issues coming up if Wisconsin, Stanford, and Clemson all win out. Boise State too I guess. I doubt we'll end up with 6 unbeatens this year.

You're the only one I've heard of that thinks that. If OU wins out with the schedule they have left (which is much more difficult than any of those schools) they have nothing to worry about.

Yeah, and it all just depends on who tanks like Florida State or who maintains. I think many just assume OU will get there if they win out because that is how it has worked in the past. However, the Big Ten have a conference championship now so that could boost Wisconsin even more. Although they are pretty far back in the BCS composite score (0.7532 vs OU's 0.9498).

Yes, but look at the dogs they might play in a Big Ten championship. OU has nothing to worry about as long as they win.

OU vs SEC champ if they win out...Now if OSU wins out then it might be more interesting

Still a lot of football left to play yet... but with the SEC, Big 10 having conference championships I wonder if that will help or hurt the Big 12.

Projected BCS for today...last computer poll won't be out until this evening. Here is a look at the raw data, sorry for the formatting but the forum doesn't allow tables to be displayed any better.

Interesting that OU has actually jumped LSU thanks to computer love.

Playing Tulsa does not help us, with strength of schedule. You could add ball State to that as well.

Perhaps not, but for that matter, playing the annual cottonbowl gig this year likely dinna garner many tough opponent points either.

This is going to be extremely close with OU vs OSU.

What if LSU and Alabama fail? OU and OSU wins all game but OSU lose to against OSU. Where will that leave OSU? What if all other teams have at least two losses, but OSU have only one loss? Both OU and OSU are very high ranking so when OSU lose, they shouldn't drop much or stay in 2nd. I think later on. Ou will go to 1 and OSU go to 2. Wonder how much OSU will drop if only losing one game while others have at least two losses. I wish...just a wish...OU and OSU meet again in SEC country. LOL

Sadly, OU and OSwho are at risk, On the horizon are the Boise States and Stanford. Both of whom should win out without too much trouble. Neither plays the difficulty of SEC or Big Ten or even Big 12 opponents week end week out. How many years will we have this discussion?

No they are not. If they win out either OU or OSU will stay above those teams.

All top five teams with two losses? Extremely unlikely. Someone in the top five most likely will end the season undefeated and there's a decent chance it will be two undefeated teams playing in the championship game with a third undefeated team complaining about how they should be playing in that game.

It will either be LSU or Alabama in the number 1 spot with everyone else fighting for number two.

If either Oklahoma or Oklahoma State run the table, they'll be playing for the NC, likely against Alabama or LSU. There is no chance Boise or Stanford beats them out for that position, as long as they win. If they lose, all bets are off. My son was at the 'Bama-OleMiss game this weekend, and he says 'Bama is loaded at every position but quarterback. Either team might be sorry they're playing them, in the long run.

So the last computer did not like OU at all, putting them 5th which is why they fell to 3rd in the final composite compared to what I put earlier. Oklahoma State is overall #1 in the computers.

If I didn't read your posts carefully I would think you were talking about weather models. Can these BCS models be used to predict if we will see a lot of snow this winter? LOL

    Looking at OU specifically...

    3 Oklahoma .9301 NR 3 2684 .9418 1 1426 .9668 4 4 2 2 4 5 5 .890

So we have two ranking OU 2nd, three ranking OU 4th, and two ranking OU 5th. So the earlier list had a 2nd place one removed and - at that time - the only 5th place computer removed. However, once the second 5th place computer came in, that drove the average lower since another low rank came in. So yes, highest and lowest were dropped...but a second lowest one of equal value was added into the mix.

LOL No doubt. I'm not sure if I would want to entrust the weather forecast to the BCS though. :-)
