State of the Forum, March 2013
Thought I would provide a little update...
As most know, we had a real bout with hackers for about two months and it seems we finally have things under control. No real issues for a few weeks now.
What we've had to do is seriously lock down the registration and new post process, which requires a lot of manual intervention such as verifying email addresses, running IP checks, etc. This means it takes a little longer to approve new posts and posters and hopefully we aren't accidentally deleting people with good intentions.
However, we are still getting a couple of dozen bogus registration attempts every day. It takes time and diligence to research each one, so apologies to anyone who has experienced slight delays in the approval process. We do our best to sort through this stuff at least once and optimally twice a day.
We also have paid to have the site cleaned up and monitored. All these changes seem to be effective.
Thank you to all those that have subscribed or recently renewed your subscription. It helps greatly to defray the various costs and is greatly appreciated.

Thanks to everyone that has helped to make this a great site and resource for Oklahoma City! Despite the recent glitches, our traffic is at an all-time high and continues to grow at a healthy rate. The best is still to come!
