City offers free landfill drop-off for residential trash customers
The City is offering a free landfill drop on Saturday, May 5 forOklahoma Cityresidential trash customers who have big loads of material they need to get rid of, but who don’t want to wait for their monthly bulky waste pickup.
“It’s a popular and convenient event for our customers, and one they use to help them get things spruced up around their homes during spring cleaning,” Solid Waste Manager James Linn II said.
The drop-off will begin at 7 a.m. and continue until 3 p.m.
The drop-off is for Oklahoma City residential customers only. Residents must bring the original copy of their current water bill and photo ID to prove residency.
Each customer drop-off is limited to one load in a car, van, SUV, pickup or single axle truck up to one ton, plus one 16-foot trailer.
Participating landfill locations include:
East Oak Landfill, 3201 Mosley Rd. (NE 36th - east of Sooner Rd. - south side of street), Oklahoma City
Oklahoma City Landfill DBA Southeast Landfill - 7001 S. Bryant, Oklahoma City
Oklahoma Landfill DBA Waste Connections - 7600 SW 15th, Oklahoma City
Northeast Landfill, 2601 N. Midwest Boulevard, Spencer, OK (construction and demolition materials only)
Acceptable items include appliances without Freon® or other refrigerant materials, furniture, carpets, mattresses and other items too large to fit in Big Blue carts.
Rules and regulations pertaining to the regular monthly bulky waste items also apply to landfill drop-offs.
Potentially hazardous materials such as tires, oils, sheetrock, car batteries, propane tanks, pool chemicals, and electronic waste will not be accepted.
