So what does everyone think about it? It is a nice place but it is the worst thing that could happen to this state. I'm a professional and normally very sensible but this thing is ruining my life. And I know I can't be the only one who has a gambling debt.

I'm one of those people who is okay with casinos and the lottery only because I do not have an addictive nature.

We often stop in but only bring $20-$50 each. As soon as we double our money (or lose it) we leave. So far I've felt very lucky and we have yet to lose. I credit that to not pushing the law of averages that says the longer you stay, the more you lose.

If you have a gambling problem, then seek help and stay away from the casinos.

If you are seriously addicted to gambling, take action now before it is too late.

Someone with an addictive personality is going to go to excess with one thing if not another, if not gambling then day-trading or something else. Do us all a favor and take responsibility for yourself and get some help before the loonies in this state try to take Riverwind away from the rest of us.

Riverwind is nice...has a few things missing.

    1) A buffett with a Vegas quality offering.
    2) A player club that allows you to earn credit on EVERY bet made on EVERY machine...not just some here and there - like Vegas.
    3) A hotel.

I would also go as far to say that it would be nice to see, in addition to the above, a modest shopping area as well. Nothing over the top like The Forum Shops or anything like that...just a nice area where people can walk around, do a little shopping...especially those coming on busses from various areas.

Firelake is probably the the closest thing I've found so far when comparing to Vegas...just missing the hotel and such there.

Comments to the topic starter...not sure if this is just flame bait, but it smells like it. Casinos have been around for awhile now...Riverwind didn't start it. If you have a problem...get help. I go into these places with a set amount of money I know I can lose...whether it be $20 or $1000...it just depends. I'm there to play the games. If you are going in and going over the top than what you can afford...get help. If you don't it is your own fault, especially when you know you have a problem.

My advice is don't go chaseing your losses, just take a few dollars to play and have a good time and when that is gone or doubled go home and try another day .

My advice is to not let the casinos get away with your money. Go back and win it all back. YOU CAN DO IT

Riverwind has done quite a number for I35-S traffic in the evenings. I'm a college student who goes home on some weekends and the far right lane gets backed up for a mile or more because people seem to be in a hurry to lose their money while inhaling what must be the equivalent of 50 cigars.

Proximity, Free Sodas, Food Court,Clean,New, Nice Decor, Large Gaming Floor, Wheel of Fortune slots ( my favorite) and a lot of pretty decent headliner concerts.

Yeah, the concerts are what I keep hearing about the most. Have you been to one, Karried? Where do they hold them? In the general floor area?

It takes me longer to get there then it does to lose my money. I go there to take a break from everyday stuff. I could do that at the movies but they charge for softdrinks and tea.

  16. Default Re: Riverwind

I've seen Hootie and the Blowfish there.. it was really great. The band let the audience come up to the front of the stage for the whole concert.. which the front row seaters didn't like.. I tried to stay in the aisle so I wouldn't block them.. the band told us all to come up.. kind of worrisome for security.

It is a nice venue. We had fun.. I'd like to go to more concerts there but we've been out of town on some of the concerts I would have liked to have seen. The Gazette always lists the upcoming concerts...

I wonder where the smoke comment came from when it comes to Riverwind. One thing I have noticed, they do a great job in moving air through the facility. Sometimes too much where you get blown away. LOL

As far as the traffic...yeah it sucks, but what can you do. Easiest way for them to fix it is to redo the intersection again. If they can find a way to keep traffic moving off the interstate without stopping, it would solve a lot of the problems. Unfortunately, that is probably a long ways away. Best thing for locals to do if you are really bothered by it, take 77 south out of town.

They finally started serving alcohol. As a poker player, I always enjoy playing against people with a few drinks in them.

Is it a full liquor license, do they have a nice bar, and do they comp drinks if you are playing??

Drinking and gambling is a must for me.

The middle bar was fully stocked with beer and liquor. The waitresses would serve you at the tables but I didn't seen them comp any drinks.

I'd be more interested in a place like this if it had sports betting (too bad thatll never happen).....I don't know anyone who ever wins at slots.

ooh...I highly doubt they can comp drinks in good old Oklahoma....Only a few states that allow that in casinos and I'm guessin we ain't one of them
