Default City Bond Rating Is Upgraded

Another sign of Oklahoma City's ascension. It is interesting that dependence on sales tax is listed among the negatives, but the effects of MAPS, which was funded entirely by sales tax, is highly praised. Hopefully, the improved rating and increases in revenues from property tax will decrease our dependence on the sales tax and lower the cost of borrowing. At the very least, the improved rating will improve the perception of potential investors, whether they are looking for municipal assistance or not.

City's bond rating gets a boost
