How did you find your current/ most recent job?

Trying to get ideas of where to look and/ or maybe some off the radar local job websites,like staffing agencies.

And for the thread topic I'm wondering if the direct application on company/ organization websites is the main approach, or things like your network, blasting resumes via email, or LinkedIn,or recruiter, etc.

My current position I found on indeed in early 2017, and I believe it steered my application through the company website. I've started to look for a new position this week and wondering if indeed and glassdoor are the best way to go locally,or if there are some "hidden gems" anyone can share.

I'm kind of a behind the scenes guy, I took alot of math and hard science classes in college, meandered for a few years, ended up with economics degree. I've been working in a inventory management role, excel heavy stuff with some purchasing and supply chain thrown in.

Won't help with your search but I think it's an interesting story.
I was an electrician for a local contractor. Left during the oil bust of the late 80s andl they were barely staying open. Worked for a Skil Power tool service center rebuilding/repairing tools. Went back to same electrical contractor when business picked back up. Then went to work for a local company that does security alarm systems/commercial sound and security video systems, etc. Then Kerr-McGee R&D center as an electronics systems specialist. Became Facilities Manager. Then back to the security/ sound company as a manager. Huge mistake. Long story. By the end of that stint I was ABSOLUTELY miserable. I was in tears many days telling my wife about my day. So I started watching the Sunday paper ads. One Sunday I saw an ad and cut it out. I read and re-read it and tossed it. A little quiet voice told me to call the number. This cycle went on about 5 times. Then the voice, and I risk being thought crazy, became loud, almost audible, and said CALL THE NUMBER. I did and the company owner was in OKC to hire someone. I had the job that day. It's been a dream job. I manage two building/grounds maintenance contracts at two Fed Govt sites. I get to both manage and still do hands on work when I choose to. I get to teach my experience. Mentor general work principles. Design modifications/remodels/additions. All in all a perfect job for me. And being govt I can't complain about my salary a bit!
More to the question. Every job but one that I've ever had was found by what now is called networking.

Indeed is a good resource, LinkedIn I feel is becoming scammier and scammier, but still good as well especially if you're in a field that recruits heavily, just do your due diligence on any company you're planning on interviewing with.
