Thread: Lynne Rostochil

    Default Lynne Rostochil

The Oklahoman and KFOR have both reported that Lynne Rostochil has died. She was a founding member of the Okie Mod Squad, a local expert on Mid Century Modern architecture, and vocal preservationist. I think she ran the okcmod.com website and Facebook group, wrote the "Oklahoma City's Mid-Century Architecture" book and was one of the leading experts in the state. He grandfather designed the First Christian Church at 36th and Walker, IIRC.

A big loss for fans of Mid-Century Modern in OKC.

Lynne was a personal friend and truly a wonderful person.

And of course, she worked tirelessly for preservation efforts in OKC.

Very sad for everyone who cared about her -- and that is a big club -- and especially for her husband and 2 sons.

Lynne will be dearly missed; she was pretty amazing.

She was amazing that’s for sure. I am so saddened to hear about this. I also followed her photo blog “Lynne’s Lens.” Her knowledge about mid-century architecture was second to none around here. I saw her pictures from Cuba over the summer and she captured some incredible shots. Was this a sudden, unexpected death? If she was ill, I never knew. Just so sad, what a nice.. and Pete you said it best ... she was pretty amazing.
