This property is still owned by Chesapeake and is being demolished.

I checked with the Nichols Hills city clerk and they said there are no permits for anything new.

I suspect CHK is doing the dirty work to help sell the property to a developer. They paid $10M under Aubrey; property is 3.79 acres.

In that way, All Souls Episcopal at 63rd/Penn isn't unique either though. It would be a down right travesty (IMO) if that church was allowed to be dozed like this.

It’s exemption ceased when CHK bought the property and it ceased being a church.

If it had been in a more dense area, it likely could have been adaptively reused, which is happening with church edifices around the world. In this case, the property is considered of far more value than the building itself, with plenty of room for a new use.
