Thread: New 3D OKC Visualization

    Default New 3D OKC Visualization

This was just posted by the Convention and Vistiors Bureau.

Shows the new boulevard, streetcar, convention center, Omni, Scissortail Park and more... Pretty much what OKC will look like in just 2 years.

Hold up... At 01:32... Is the Business District streetcar stop supposed to have a tree growing through the middle of the shelter canopy? Talk about progressive!

All kidding aside, very neat animation. I like it. All of the MAPS projects coming on-line will be an amazing transformation for this city. I can't wait to see all of this for real!

That was done by OKC's Skyline Ink which recently moved into the Grain Elevator building near the old producer's coop.

    1) I thought the grain elevator was going to be a restaurant?

    2) Even in our _vision_ of the future, the boulevard is not particularly bike/ped appealing

    3) I appreciate having a rendering of the skyline that includes the Omni

Remember that was paid for by the CVB so the emphasis is on the convention center, hotel and park.

The Grain Elevator still has space for a restaurant.

Great video. When I was younger and reading about all the proposals for Bricktown, the ballpark, and other MAPS initiatives back in the 90s, I never would have dreamed that one day I could be riding a streetcar through multiple, distinct districts on my way to a professional basketball game in Oklahoma City. It is great to see how far OKC has come and how exciting the future will be.

The area in and around Scissortail Park is going to see the largest scale and most rapid redevelopment in the history of OKC.

It's hard to even comprehend all this coming together in just the next two years.

Thank you for posting the video Pete. I heard it referenced on the video of the groundbreaking ceremony but was having a hard time finding it online. Once again you came through for me.

Is that a music festival being held in the park?

Is that a Target logo I see in the Co-op site? Should I not be reading into that too much?

Skyline Ink has come a long way since they were sharing space with another architecture firm when starting out and were still in architecture school.

That video is awesome. I really hope our Omni isn't as boring as that...
