BalloonFest Cancelled :(

I was disappointed to hear on News9 this morning that the planned BalloonFest at Chisolm Creek was cancelled due to the landowners rescinding their lease because of "failure to meet requirements." I'm assuming that's some kind of bond or insurance the organizers couldn't work out? Anyone have any details?

I remember the old balloon festival they used to have out in the NW part of OKC a few years ago, and it was great - then one year, it was gone, presumably over some city/organizer dispute about revenues or expenses??

Losing either or both is a shame. It would be a great new late summer/early fall attraction for the metro.

Hmm, might have to go to this. I love see hot air balloons. Been wanting to go to the big festival in Albuquerque for years.
