h.i.s. jackets

Does anyone else remember these zippered jackets? They were a little heavier than a windbreaker, but not as heavy as a jean jacket. They were part of the high school uniform in the mid/late 60s, along with 501 jeans and penny loafers or desert boots. Almost everyone, it seems, had a navy blue h.i.s. jacket. If you were daring enough they also came in pale yellow or pale blue. Try finding them on the inter-web now, though. It's as if they never existed. I think Rothschilds and CR Anthony carried them.

Absolutely! The most common color at Harding HS in 1967-68 and at NEHS in 1968-71 was navy blue, though I do remember seeing the blue and yellow before. I love the price in the fine print, "About $13."
