Thread: Where else can I set up a booth?

Default Where else can I set up a booth?

Does anyone know of any other options besides the Paris Flea Market? I've been selling outside for the past year and before that I had a booth at Golden Goose. I'm looking for something more permanent. I can't sell inside Paris because their requirement is that I be there until closing time and we are not going to give up going to church. The Golden Goose closed down and now their in the middle of nowhere but they never had much foot traffic anyways. I also sell on eBay but I have piles of stuff accumulating and nowhere to sell. Greatly appreciate any suggestions.

I would think it depends on what type of products you are offering, and what your target demographic/customer base is. I assume, that you are offering used/pre owned goods...seeing that you list a flea market as an original avenue. So my question stands...are you selling Electronics? Are you selling Antiques/Collectibles? Sports Memoribilia? Or just junk? <----- Not in a derogatory way.

If you have used electronics, I'm sure you are finding that the margins are not very high, and it would be difficult to liquidate at a rate higher than you can acquire the product. But typically Craigslist would probably be your best avenue, by utilizing key words and a well written add. (As long as your asking price reflects a true market value)

If you have mostly Antiques/collectibles, I would recommend renting a booth at "The Rink," on Rockwell. (Approx 36th?) There is heavy traffic flow on all days, especially Weekends. I believe booths start at $300/month. You don't even have to be there. Just price your goods, and walk away. So, you wouldn't miss church on Sundays, and would still be able to beat the Baptists to the cafeteria for lunch.

If its Sports Memorabilia, there is a monthly trade show/sports card/memorabilia show that sets up at the Biltmore Hotel banquet room down on Reno/Meridian. I believe booths are $75/day

If you are selling junk....Well, good luck. You could have a garage sale every weekend, until the city shuts it down.

If you are selling "new" product still in its original packaging, with current UPC codes, Amazon marketplace would be a MUCH MUCH better platform to offer those goods than Ebay. But alas...from the way your somewhat non descript post was written.....I'm jumping to the conclusion that it is used goods.

And last....but not least...If you are "accumulating" product, and do not have an avenue to move said product...you should probably stop "accumulating" product. Unless, once again you are selling "junk," and are accumulating product at a zero cost. (Business 101)

Well first let me thank you for your informative post. You make a lot of good suggestions. I don't know how I forgot to post what kind of items I sell. I actually sell mostly new items, at least at the flea market. A lot of clothes, shoes, household items. kids stuff and such. I have considered Amazon but was leaving it as a last resort since it's a whole other business to learn. If I can't find anything else, I will definitely be looking more into Amazon. Thank you for your suggestions.
