Does anyone know what happened to the old crew( Steely, etc.)? Somehow I missed when this happened.

I think it's just temporary/vacation thing for Christmas. If he were gone from the station, he wouldn't be on their staff page - most media places are usually very good about purging such things when someone leaves..
