    Default HIgher Grounds

This is an interesting concept at NW 63rd and MacArthur. It looks very nice and hopefully will accomplish their purpose.

My wife and I checked this place out yesterday morning. I was concerned that, given the obvious theme, I wouldn't feel particularly comfortable, but I'm glad I checked it out. Aside from the fact that every patron there seemed to have a bible on their table, the atmosphere was cozy and more hipster-decor driven than Jesus-in-your-face, the overhead music was The Beatles the whole time, and the coffee and baked goods were just fantastic.

I had a Mayan mocha (a mocha with a not-subtle serving of chili powder) and a pumpkin scone. In terms of stock and how well run the place is, it's everything that I had hoped District House would be. I don't think I've ever seen more than three items in the bakery display case at District House, but I actually had a hard time selecting from the selection of items at Higher Grounds.
