Doesn't have to be religious or anything, but everyone should really be thankful for what we eat. It is amazing to see what farming practices are now widely used and these videos really open your eyes.
Warning: Not for the faint hearted

It is always important to respect life and I think we failing at that lately. Not as individuals, but as a whole. I wonder how sustainable this is. If these are the kinds of things we're having to do now to support our current habits, just think of it will be in 50 years when the world reaches a population of 40+ billion.
"Soylent Green . . . Is . . ."
There are a lot of really good food related docs on Hulu. It is scary what companies are doing for profit. Tapped is a good one about water.
Wow. It looks like "everything old is new again" . . .
To add to the suggested reading list . . .
Tomorrow, chicken is on the agenda.
It ain't "Organic" . . . but it's "100% Natural" =)
(which I guess means no rocks)
When I look out over the multi-colored carpet of leaves covering all of the formerly green lawns lining the streets of the neighborhood I think first about raking them, reconsider and wait for the wind to take them to other places just as it brought them to rest beneath the Christmas lights adorning a couple of the trees from which our own leaves will eventually join the parade and I wonder . . . Say! Since there's a ban on burnin' 'em . . . what if . . . they could be turned into something resembling VeganSpam?
Yes . . . but without the proper sauce and garnish . . . it's sort of like . . . oh . . . I dunno . . . overcooked calamari . . .
For lack of a better simile. For sure Soylent Green is better than Haggis or Store Bought Chorizo.
I'm looking forward to the day when we can all just photosynthesize.
Naturally. And in an organic manner. =)
And I'm fairly sure this will happen just the other side of the genetic engineering horizon.
Tomorrow: Chicken and Taters plus a Green Veg. (not Soylent . . . one of the other ones.)
It's probably just a "mental" thing, but I really have a problem with something that is 17% sheep's lungs and 83% other stuff from the cutting room floor that didn't make it to the recycling plant. Preconceived notions may be keeping me from enjoying one of the highlights of World Fusion Cuisine, but so it goes . . . =)
While we are on the subject of perception as compared to reality . . .
I'm fairly amazed that someone in the marketing department didn't come up with an updated moniker for what is essentially Fruit Cake in a Can.
It's Microwavable . . . So it's Gotta be Good!
(but how many sponges had to be sacrificed for this dessert???)
I can almost imagine a Heinz 57 marketing meeting . . .
"Well, what d'ya think, Ray?"
"I dunno, Bob . . . Maybe we should stick to catsup and pickles?"
I don't like organ meat that much. Has that metallic aftertaste tang to it.
