Thread: Flame Brazilian Steak House

  1. Default Flame Brazilian Steak House

Firelake Grand Casino opened their Brazilian steakhouse Wednesday so we went out and tried it for Halloween.

If you've been to Texas de Brazil then Flame will look very familiar to you. The salad bar is not quite as massive as Texas de Brazil but everything I chose from it was fresh and delicious. They also serve several hot items like Texas de Brazil. The soup last night was lobster bisque and it was tasty.

They said the meats could be served salted or unsalted but none of the gauchos serving meat ever specified one way or another. I thought some of the meat was a little underseasoned but all of it was tender, juicy. and well cooked.

They also asked us how each of us wanted our meats cooked but the gauchos offered us meat cooked from rare to medium well. So not sure why they asked.

I would rate all the meats from good to excellent. I really loved the sausages and the flank steak.

My ojmly complaint would be the service and I'm chalking that complaint up to the new restaurant jitters. While all the gacuchos and wait staff were super friendly and attentive to our needs. They didn't always follow through as we had to ask for a couple of items multiple times.

The biggest problem I had with service was the pacing. At other churascarias I have dined at. You normally have to flip the marker from green to red because your plate starts to pile up with meat. Last night I would spend 5-10 minutes sometimes before I would be offered meat and I was offeted some meats a couple of times but saw other go by that weren't offered to us..... I was also offered a beef rib that was really a pork sparerib.

Overall I was happy with my visit and I'm sure they will work out the issues with pacing of the meat.

Dinner service is $39.99 and they offer a Sunday Brunch for $24.95 with limited meats.

This is very interesting but since this is about a specific restaurant should it be posted here?

This is what is said that should be posted in this area:

Recommendations, "best of", recipes and other food and drink topics not related to a specific restaurant or bar
I have probably violated this in the past also so it's not a major deal.

Probably should but in the root the only option was to Start Article..... I wasn't writing an article. When I clicked into this sub-forum it offered a button to Start New Thread.... Which is what I was looking to do..... So I ran with it.

I've only been to Grand Casino once. We had dinner off the buffet line on the main floor and then enjoyed the LBT concert. It's been a few years. Air quality in the main dining area for the buffet and for the concert room was fine for each area. The gaming floor was so thick one could cut it with a knife. Is this new eatery set far enough apart from the gaming that one can both see and eat without the fog of the smokers being overbearing?

Yes it is.... It's a very nicely done restaurant on the second floor.

Good to know. As a former smoker I try not to be a pill on such matters. But that casino, when I was last there, was really, really thick and stale the entire way from the concert hall to the main doors.

I've been twice recently. Something was off both times

First time the parmesan pork was dry, and the manager was very apologetic about it.

2nd time the salad bar had oysters (awesome), but they didn't have a list of meats they had. Moreover, they kept asking me what I wanted but they couldn't tell me what they had? Also bottom flank tasted like Chinese sausage.
