It's so purdy.
Looking good Pete! Love the theme/skin.

Second that! It changed for me in the middle of browsing within the last half hour or so. I like the top menu that follows you down so you don't have to go back to the top to hit the "New Posts" button.
Thanks guys!
It's still a work in progress but I've been testing it for a few weeks and decided to turn it loose.
Will be the platform for many more improvements.
I reallly like how the click for next unread post of a thread is much larger now
Great job, Pete. Looks good and refreshing. Bold and professional.
Very impressive , I thought I was on the wrong site.
Very, very nice!!
I like it, it's definitely feels more modern. I suggest getting rid of the topic title in each post though, I think it's just filler on an already busy content area.
And if I can go off on a tangent on forum design: a lot of people forget that forums like this one evolved out of email chains and early email-based chat display boards. The general format just stays the same even though the pace of conversation and the technology behind it is so much more advanced now. A lot of forum staples like signatures, user information, avatars, etc, are just relics of a bygone internet era, IMO. When you pause to think about how much area of the page is actually dedicated to post content vs. all this other stuff that you automatically zone out, it really makes you wonder why forum design isn't really evolving at all. I thought that the reddit-style approach with streamlined comments and comment trees would have taken over by now. You can read entire conversations without hardly scrolling on Reddit, but while that site in particular seems to be getting more and more popular, the design itself doesn't seem to have much influence yet.
Just something I've been thinking about. I own a forum myself and have been party to a lot of forum re-designs lately.
I definitely said, "Oh wow" when it came up. Thought I was on the wrong site for a sec. Love it though. Good job, Pete.
Pete,
Very nice. As a moderator on a Yahoo group, I'm not hung up on the appearance but this is impressive and as usual, it's still very functional.
Thanks for all of your work.
C. T.
Impressive. Thanks, Pete, for your work.
It feels very similar to The Lost Ogle.
Very nice Pete!!
Not bad. Any technical improvements under the hood, or just a new skin?
I like it a lot and I usually hate website updates.
One feature I just noticed is that folks on your ignore list show up in a very dark gray that makes their posts pretty hard to read. Only improvement there would be make the post nearly invisible that is just passed over or doesn't even appear.
Nice, clean, professional look.
You now have my approval to press forward with this design.
Great work!
I suppose someone needs to be a negative ned, so may as well be me.
Not an instant fan of the change. Perhaps it will grow on me. Works for mold and bread.
Awesome!
Great job.
It's a little bit wonky on the ol' iPad, but at the same time the latest post button next to each thread title is WAY easier to successfully jab with your thumb. The other was so tiny and close to other stuff that you often fat-fingered and frustratingly went to the wrong location (or at least I did). So overall big navigational improvement for me. Also, obviously nicer aesthetically.
Couple things of note, but these might already be known.
1) Wiki articles (the main post) sit on top of the menu bar at the top until you scroll all the way through.
2) Images no longer resize correctly inside tables with size restrictions.
Haven't noticed anything else though.
Any chance Embedded Tweet integration is coming?
Going the other direction, I could see Twitter Cards being useful for the Wiki articles.
