Thread: Downtown Inc Pressure

  1. Default Downtown Inc Pressure

Anyone else read the original article by Steve Lackmeyer? He must have caught some flack, and I'm curious what sort of pressure came back from it since they put enough effort to put a reply story up on the site as a rather noticeable article.

I really agree with Steve in that it's easy to hit the big things, but you've got to keep up the little things too before they pile up to be their own big thing. I'm just a bit curious why these things weren't taken care of on an ongoing basis and prevented from being what they are now...TIF or not. If we can't maintain the big stuff, maybe we shouldn't be building it??

You're right. All the new places to go are great if you don't break your ankle getting there. More lighting would make people feel safer. Bringing back the gas lanterns would be nice. We have no shortage of natural gas.
