    Information & Latest News

New "street taco" place to open in former Quiznos space on 110 N. Robinson.

Not affiliated with mini-chain in Texas -- locally owned and operated. Will feature high-quality, slow-cooked meats, homemade chorizo and bold South American coffee. Will start with breakfast and lunch Mon-Fri but will expand hours if demand is there.

Hope to be open next week; possibly as soon as May 9th.

I like the sound of that!

It was already almost impossible to find a Quiznos in OKC... Now this one is gone, too.

Wish Subway hadn't destroyed them in marketing so bad. Quiznos is/was my favorite sandwhich place.

Quiznos just filed for bankruptcy in March 2014.

They have closed lots of locations over the last few years.

I am not at all saddened by this they are quite bad. Unfortunately the one here in the OU Union is going to stick around as well as the Sbarro. Gross.

On another note the street taco idea could go over really well. It is different and should have a nice lunch buzz.

Is this related to the Urban Taco chain from Dallas? If so, yummo.

    No, completely unrelated.

Yes! Breakfast tacos downtown again. Been missing them since JT's closed up shop

Quiznos never appealed to me. There was just something about the 'wisdom' of using deformed looking rodents to pitch a food product that whispered ... why risk it.

Actually I really liked Quiznos toasted subs. But I think Subway - which has much more name recognition and a bigger advertising budget - took much of the wind out of Quiznos' sails when they also started doing toasted.

Man…when something gets popular it really takes off. I like Urban Johnnie as a name…but Urban Taco?!!!

When I open up a taco stand in the States I'm gonna call it "Se Venden Tacos" 'cause, y'all, that just makes sense.

…And there I will sell empanadas.

I still eat at the Quiznos in Belle Isle at lunch and the one in Yukon for dinner sometimes. They have some new pastas that are pretty good too.

Opened today and wife tried it, said it was "expensive, but OK". Chicken, pork, or beef, with 3 different salsas to choose from (and some toppings too, I assume). Other things on the menu besides tacos, but she apparently just got tacos today, also Mexican pastries and sodas are available. Also said they charge for chips and salsa (but that's about the norm at any place except sit-down Tex-Mex places, I think).

What are the prices like? Just curious.

He said that it was "expensive," so I bet they're at least $2/taco. For street tacos, anything over $1.50 is already too high. Curious about the prices myself, as I love street tacos.

Ate there today... $3.50 / taco. Tasted good, but way too expensive.

Holy sh%t! Are they bigger than the average street taco? Because, if they aren't, people are definitely getting ripped off!

Yeah, that's what made my wife not like it, average size, average taste, higher than average price - basically BTT prices, but not the quality. She's going to try one of their burritos, though, which I think are about $7-8...

Wow pricey! People will spend a bunch on lunch downtown I guess.

    Still better than Quiznos though....

Average size, and a small thing of salsa. They did have a decent amount of meat. Everything else is extra - chips, more hot sauce, queso, etc. Drinks are $1.89 for an 18 oz. cup.

For the cost of 2 tacos, I could have gotten a full size Quiznos sandwich.

Wife had a burrito today (not sure what kind), said there was too much rice and not enough meat, but the yellow flour tortilla was very good.
