Football related name on Lindsay? Husband can't remember the name but Goldie's took its place. Anyone remember? He says the owner also owned J Pats. Thanks!

I may be mixing it with something else but The Varsity comes to mind

Husband remembered - it was Boomerang! I told him that wasn't a football related name and he reminded me of "Boomer Sooner." I can't win an argument with that man.

The Boomarang I knew in Norman was on W Main, now a La Baquette I think.
However, I do think the old J-Patss on Flood is now a Boomarang diner.

Goldies was Goldies when I got here in the mid 80's. No idea what it might have been before that though.

Now I'm laughing. His brother told him the same thing and he said his brother was mistaken. Now, I have to decide if I should just let it go or tell him he actually was wrong. This is such an unusual posture to be in when it comes to Mr. Genius.

PQ, you can do what you want when it comes to your hubby but I agree with Kevin. I grew up in Norman and lived there until I finished college in the late 60's. The Boomerang I remember was on Main.

    Husband concedes this is correct.

Write this date down, please. I will be celebrating with a cupcake and wine.

LOL. tip of the hat PQ. And now, egg on face, I correct myself. The J-Pats which I believe has become a boomarang is on Porter, just north of Acres, not on Flood. Silly ol me.

We'll just keep that between us. Clearly, we codgers of a certain age are running out of unused files.

Was it Liberty Drug? It was on Asp, I think. I remember it was a local hang
out for jazzers in the late 70's and early 80's.
