Veterans Park

Does anyone know whats going on with the dirt work @ Veterans Park. Looks like maybe their cleaning up the sides of the creek and i'm guessing maybe going to make a earth bridge with tin horns underneath to replace the bridge that was torn up by the tornado. ???????

I dont have confirmation, but I know after a few heavy downpours that creek can run quite high. There is a flood control zone on the south end of the park but I believe they may be making some flood control adjustments. Making the creek wider.

Whatever happened to that Coca-Cola award for this park? Is this what is going on?

A few weeks ago I saw in the Oklahoman Moore was soliciting bids for a 'military and patriotic' themed park, not to exceed $200,000.

Isn't that what Veterans Park is? To remember the military? It seems very Patriotic to me already...

"Prior to the tornado this was the list of projects happening in Veterans Memorial Park.

Veterans Wall of Honor
Water feature (construction of a new pond)
Landscaping, lighting, benches
Rebuild current restroom
Expand parking

Here is an update about progress on the parks projects. Veterans Park: Wall of Honor is being designed at the present time. Replacement of damaged walking trail should begin in about a month. Over 700 names submitted so far. Last day to submit a name is Dec 31."


I'm curious as to what the water feature is going to look like....
