    Default Picasso Cafe 2

Well, this is my very feeble attempted to give you the heads up.

My boyfriend and I visited Picasso Cafe this midmorning.
We were greeted by a host, who asked for our preference in seating ,he lead us to our table, gave us the menus, told us our server will be with us momentarily.
During the time we waited we notice the remodeling and the upbeat layout, the decor..the over all ambiance was a foretaste of the meal we were to enjoy there.
Our server introduced herself, asked for our drink orders, asked if we were ready to ordered then.
We werent (new menus, new place)she brought our drinks, and when we asked for her recommendations SHE KNEW about each meal we asked about.
We gave our meal orders,I ordered the lobster bisque, my b/f order pesto and mushroom pasta) she served, ask if anything else, gave us a few minutes, checking regularly if our drinks were full, stopped by and asked if it was as expected..ITS WAS NOT! it was better.
My concern as to any restaurant is consistency in service and meal quality.
Its a far cry from Galileos', which suffered the waning days before its forced tax closure and its principal owners' death.
My hope is it will be a success and you will share a meal with your friends or family there.

Nice. Always a pleasure to see someone say something positive. I'll check the place out, soon.

I was there for opening night.

My party was extremely impressed with the quality of food and service, particularly considering the very affordable prices.

My wife and I had several drinks, an appetizer, soup, and two entrees and got out of there for less than $60.

The aforementioned lobster bisque was quite good, and at $4 a cup, ridiculously cheap.

I think this place has what it takes to make it food and atmosphere-wise; it will just be interesting to see how they integrate the regulars into it.

Great news, should make it down there sometime next month.

I am looking forward to trying this place. I was saddened to remove Galileos from my rotation but after consistently bad service, long waits, and rude managers enough was enough. I'm glad it closed because it failed to improve.

Going to have my birthday gathering here on the 15th. Hope the service is decent =/ So far, I've heard nothing but positive feedback!

We went with a group on Sunday. The food was quite good, service not so much. They were so late with my wife's food that I was finished before she was served. They had the decency to comp her meal. Kim seems to have a chip on her shoulder and that ain't a bit endearing. They are going to go the route of Galileo's if they aren't careful.

A friend and I headed up there over the holiday break.

I got the lobster bisque (since it is so highly promoted) and the chicken-friend portobello with spinach.

My friend got a Caesar Salad and some pasta.

Overall, wasn't too impressed. Beer selection is small. Our waitress was brand new, so she didn't know exactly what was on the menu yet. I asked for mashed potatoes instead of spinach, they had to go check. They didn't have them. I asked for green beans, she had to go check. They didn't have them. So I stuck with the spinach... the chicken-friend mushroom was good. I like the concept. The spinach was slimy, salty and just bad. The soup was not a bisque. They should put it in quotes. The lobster was chewy... the creamy tomato basil tasting liquid was too salty.

The atmosphere was a lot cleaner than the previous incarnation, but lacked the charm. Something was missing, but I can't say what it was.. I am certain I will go back, but not sure when. There are a lot more places I would rather try. I was hoping they would knock it out of the park and make me a regular, but they didn't.

    I miss Galileo's.

I went the Picasso's today. Great lunch, great service, good prices, nice clean-up of what was becoming a pretty run-down place.

If I recieve less than satisfactory service and they are wise enough to make up for it with a comp, I will always make a return trip. It amazes me how many times I will go somewhere, get bad service, let the manager know and then they really dont give a damn and just make excuses. A comped meal of 12 measly dollars goes a long way. Its hard to understand how so many restaurants dont get that.

Thumbs down Re: Picasso's on Paseo

Galileo owners on to other ventures in the wake of their friend/co-owner's death???? What a crock....Not so noble...How about being forced to shut down due to non-payment of income taxes....for years?!

Agree! However, I wonder sometimes if "some" people complain just because they are hoping to get a free meal or something in return. Granted many complaints are warranted and have merit, but there are many out their that make it a habit of causing a scene or loudly complain just to get something free. Also with the way the economy is, many businesses are feeling the stress and are overwhelmed with just keeping their doors open, but from the flip side, now is the time for businesses to go out of the way with top notch customer service and that includes serving good, quality food and taking an approach that they do care and the customer is very important!

This is what makes a great restaurant.
And they do tweak the food and presentation.

I ate there a few days ago. Everyone at the table was happy with what they ordered. Good food, good service. I'll go back.

Very good for the price, cheapest COOP Zeppelin I've seen in OKC. I'll be back for sure. The mushroom appetizer was awesome.

I went for the first time last week. Very vegetarian friendly. I had not had a frito chili pie in over 10 years until I had the veggie version there. I enjoyed the chili very much since it is very similar to the way I make it at home by subbing beans for the meat.

Wow, what a fool! They were not forced to shut down. They were about to reopen afternot only catching up on the taxes but remodeling as well. I sure you already know everything though. Also, it is sales tax not income tax.

    Some people

PS Craig was a great guy to know.

Ate their last night for the first time, cleaner atmosphere, and the food is excellent. Definitely will be in our regular rotation. Affordable prices and quality ingredients to boot. Highly recommend the trio appetizer.

Same here. I stopped buying it in silent protest. I'll buy it for $4/pint. But not $6+.
