    An organizing committee announced Friday they are set to host a series of events marking the upcoming 20th anniversary of the vote for the original Metropolitan Area Projects.

    I am so glad we had people with Vision 20 years ago. This path OKC is on, is Amazing! Thank you Mr. Norick, the state of Oklahoma is in your debt.

    Norick was only ONE vote and a minor one at that. The city council at that time is the power behind MAPS. Norick is like every other OKC Mayor a powerless/talking head/cheer leader.

    This is an absolute lie and a gross distortion of history.
    It was Norick who had to rally council members of very different backgrounds to support the ballot. It was Norick who threatened the chamber that he would resign if they didn't back the MAPS campaign when early polling showed it would fail. It was Norick, who had ties to the southside and northside, who was able to get the two different sides of the city together.
    And yeah, I wrote the book. I do know what I'm talking about.
