Dolby Atmos at Harkins

According to their website, Harkins Theatres has installed Dolby Atmos in their Cine Capri. The new sound system will premiere with Man of Steel.

For those unaware, Dolby Atmos is a new sound system by Dooby (surprise!) that is supposed to be really immersive. From what I understand, rather than having basic channels like the left, right, and center channels, Atmos allows each speaker to function as its own channel. Sound mixers can target very specific areas of a movie theatre for this or that sound to be coming from. The system also has a lot more speakers, including speakers on the ceiling. This allows sounds to pass overhead.

I'm excited to try this out and see what its like.
