Another slick little infill project for the Plaza District, this time at 1300 NW 17th, very near the recent 18th Street Studios.
Four units to be developed by Ken Fitzsimmons, architect at http://www.task-design.com/

Hopefully it will have more windows.
Yeah, I appreciate the minimalist design, but it might be a good idea for the lasting preservation of this structure to beef up the ornamentation along NW 17 because it may be within the sight-line terminus of Ellison Avenue which is a cool little street.
Plus I live in a "modern" structure, and it won awards when it was built, etc. But now that it's aged, I'd say it's anything but, and the minimalist design is nice to the eye, but bad for function with the lack of windows. It's too dark on the interior. I love modern and minimalist design, but plenty of windows are what make it liveable long term.
Good perspective, metro.
