A couple of photos from yesterday. Looks largely complete but not sure if they have moved in yet.

This is from NE 50th looking north:

That building is sharp and I look forward to seeing what sort of restaurant they get for the ground floor.

Really, almost all of Lincoln now looks pretty good. Most the really lousy places have been replaced with green grass, the sidewalks and median looks nice, and there is quite a bit of new development between about 32nd and the capitol.

And south of the capitol, it's all pretty nice these days.

Pretty stunning transformation from 10-20 years ago.

True that, it's got potential - I'm just wishing for the section south of the Capitol to do some "evolving" that so far has not been forthcoming. Did you take any pics of the OECU building down at NE 30th?

For the long-term future prognosis, I like the potential for further north Lincoln (36th-50th) for TOD as a commuter stop. I think the BNSF tracks have to be where commuter rail goes, which will become evident as ACOG advances the discussion in the coming months, whereas downtown-NW Expwy I think has to be cheaper "enhanced streetcar" which can travel up Classen/Western and the Expressway at 40-45 mph (we're not just bound to streetcar, LRT, HRT, or BRT).

But Lincoln is pretty close to those BNSF tracks.

My friends dad works for the company and said "you should see downtown from the roof!" He'd go up there when it was under construction. Maybe I can get up in there some time and snap a shot ;-)

This is really a sharp and underrated building.

Check out the images I just added to the Gallery in the article at the top of the page.

Building permit today to put a small restaurant in the ground floor of this building.

    Not sure of the operator.

The restaurant on the ground floor of this building has opened.

    It's lunch only:

This was the cafe that was in the 1st floor of the south building in Central Park (just up the street north). The food was good but pretty plain. Prices were reasonable. New menu looks about the same.

FYI - the old space in Central Park has been completely renovated and is reopening in the next couple of weeks as a Health Nut Cafe
