    Thanks for the information!

Very interesting about the Good Egg group possibly doing another restaurant downtown. I know they are going to have restaurant space in both the Braniff Building and the amenities structure.

Also, being done by 2014 would be great but I'm sure that just means the original tower & plaza, Braniff and the amenities building. They would still have an entire new tower left to build.

If Good Egg was to be involved I bet it would be with the Braniff building, which is going to be a fantastic location.

All their other concepts have gone into historical/renovated structures.

Nothing solid just yet. The Braniff space is fantastic. Stay tuned!

Here's the Braniff Building... As you recall, the east and southern exposures will feature new glass facades as part of the on-going renovation:

Photo courtesy of BoulderSooner showing the Braniff test window; you can also see they have removed a lot of the facade from the old Globe Life building:

Pete, you agree that looks really good?

You can see the concrete they added above the second floor for the stone dividers. I thought I saw them sitting on a flat bed this morning on braodaway. Maybe they will be installed soon.

Yes, this project is going to be super sharp, both renovation of the historic elements and the modern facades being added to the south and east exposures.

So my understanding is that Good Egg will only be doing 1 restaurant, which will be in the Braniff Bldg, and the Amenities Building will have a small grocery market? (What chances are there of Good Egg bringing back the Market C, to realize potential synergy between operating a food market and a restaurant next door to e/o?)

the amenities building will have a restaurant also ..

So, restaurant in addition to food market?

    Thanks..

My sister just forwarded this email she got from sandridge

"We have exciting news to share with you! SandRidge will soon publicly announce our new partnership with A Good Egg Dining Group to manage the restaurant currently under construction on the ground floor of the Braniff building. Called Kitchen No. 324 (a reference to the Braniff building’s street address), the restaurant is slated to open in November and will serve breakfast, lunch and to-go dinners to SandRidge employees and the general public.

Good Egg has a reputation throughout Oklahoma City for great service and outstanding food and already operates several popular local restaurants. As an extension of our new partnership, all SandRidge employees can now receive a 20% discount at the following Good Egg locations: Cheever’s Café, Iron Starr Urban Barbeque, Red Prime Steak and Tucker’s Onion Burgers. This discount cannot be combined with other offers and excludes alcohol and tip. To take advantage of the savings, you will simply need to show the server your employee badge."

    Fantastic!

We picked up on these rumors some time ago and Tuck (owner) basically said they had been working on a deal.

We've also heard that A Good Egg Group may also be opening a restaurant in the new SandRidge Amenities building. Still a ways off there, as they are in the process of demolishing the old building and the new one won't be open for about a year and a half.

For those that don't know Good Egg operates Cheever's, Red Prime, Iron Starr, Tucker's and Republic: http://www.goodeggdining.com/restaurants

That's awesome. I plan on getting more than a few lunches there.

  18. Default Re: SandRidge Center & Commons

Not going to lie, I am disappointed in this, as this restaurant deal will not bring any of the dinner crowd into the core as we'd hoped, and I guess there will no longer be the potential for a small grocery market in the Amenities Bldg. What is coming to fruition is not mixed-use. This is just more buildings downtown heavily weighted toward the 8-5 with no programming or deliberation for the purpose of activity after 5. Or weekends.

I will be willing to bet that SandRidge has a crack squad to monitor activities in the park, and more specifically, to discourage any lingerers after 5 in what they sold to the DDRC as a vibrant public square.

I would bet that any restaurant in the amenities building will serve dinner, as it will actually be on the park in a fantastic setting.

Also, AGE could easily add dinner to the Braniff location is there was sufficient demand.

In the meantime, Red Prime is just a couple of blocks away.

Kitchen no. 324 will be open 7 days a week, breakfast and lunch only in the beginning. We plan to open for dinner at some point. We still aren't sure how late we will stay open. The restaurant in the amenities building will serve lunch and dinner.

    Thanks, Tuck!

Having breakfast and lunch available on Sat & Sun in the middle of downtown will be a very nice addition.

And thanks for confirming the amenities building rumor. I bet that will be fantastic space.

Thanks Tuck, I would love more downtown dinner/bar options after work. There aren't a lot of places to go to happy hour downtown with good grub after Trattoria closed.

Flint in the Colcord (now open) will be a nice addition, especially when their patio is open this summer.

Vast of course will be a fantastic option.

Would be nice if they could find a nice operator for the Myriad Gardens restaurant.

All these, combined with the new SandRidge options, will make a big difference in the downtown dining scene.

A bit quick to the betting window Spartan. With tuck noting one place is lunch and dinner, just off the plaza, and the other having plans to eventually add a dinner offering, I think your crack squad of linger-busters is already headed to retraining to be either tree-trimmer or bus-boys.

I don't venture DT much these days, but it's getting to where I will soon have lots of new reasons to rethink that.
