Broke my heart to see the State torn down. Whatever happened to the Galleria?

Yes, I teared up a little too when I saw that part.

I agree ... seeing the State destroyed before my very eyes, so to speak, was very unpleasant ... even more so than the animations which opened and closed the video.

As for the history of the galleria, go here and scroll down to "The Special Problem of the Retail Galleria."

if memory serves, the century center had (has?) a small mall-like area... is that somehow related to the galleria in the pei plan? -M

No, Martin, they are different. The galleria was to have been built in the 4 blocks between Robinson & Hudson, Park Avenue and Sheridan, perhaps with possible expansion to the west.

WOW! What a rush of memories including that opening jingle ......"growing with pride....growing with love..."

I got a kick out of the guy saying the Trigen building was beautiful and compared it to a church! That was hilarious, not sure I've seen a church anywhere in OKC like it.

That was fun to go back and see, minus all the great buildings that we lost. Thanks for posting Doug.
