Dressing up historically is fine. If you choose to do it, that's great. It adds to the atmosphere. However, please be advised that S&M outfits are not medieval. Please do not wear them again, especially if your belly is spilling over the midriff section showing excessive hail damage.

On a more serious note, I've never been to the med fair, but I've been told that in the past it was educational. What I saw here was nothing more than people dressing up like Lord of the Rings characters and vendors selling crap that was repackaged as "medieval". The organizers need to do something to ensure that participants stick to the theme. No, putting flags and shields on some crappy carnival ride shouldn't count as "in theme"
