Kind of a snarky unnecessary comment.

They have a receptionist if you want to ask about policies about fishing or where might be best (552-4040) Mon-Fri 6a-8p • Sat 7a-5p • Sun 1-5p. It is somewhat unlikely to catch anything near the boathouses, the east basin gets drained what seems like almost yearly (last time was this January) due to construction and is not stocked with fish. I have doubts it is encouraged near any of the docks that kayaks but especially rowing shells get launched from or pass, and even if it is allowed on the docks don't expect people to be happy about you doing it.

Fishing nearer to the waterfall seems less likely to be a hazard, most people in rowing shells are facing the rear of the ship and and the one person assigned to look forward will either have an obstructed view in front of the boat or only be looking back for a fraction of a second every 3 to 5 strokes (6 to 15 seconds). Some of the novices will hit the dock several meters from were they were aiming assuming they even could tell you were fishing and should be avoiding that spot or a line on the way to the dock.
