I expect bbq and blues.- j/k, but it will be there. Typically a few tents, places to by drinks and food, and people sitting in lawn chairs.
The 16th Annual Bricktown Blues & BBQ Festival will be held on Friday, June 17th and Saturday, June 18th. Gates open at 3 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. Saturday, and the music and festivities last until midnight.
Location & Directions:
The Bricktown Blues & BBQ Festival is held, rain or shine, beneath tents erected at the corner of Sheridan & Oklahoma Avenue in Bricktown.
Here are scheduled performers for 2011:
Friday
* 5 – 6:10 p.m. Doc Blues Revue
* 6:30 – 8 p.m. Al Johnson and Why Not
* 8:30 – 10 p.m. Otis Watkins
* 10:30 - Scott Keeton Band
Saturday
* 1:00 – 2:15 p.m. Amy Lee and the Second Line Band
* 2:45– 4 p.m. Doc Blues Revue
* 4:30– 6 p.m. Blues Tiger
* 6:30– 8 p.m. Dan Danger Band
* 8:30– 10 p.m. Ike Lamb and the Creepers
* 10:30 p.m. – The Bluehemians
Food, Drink & More:
In addition to the "championship" barbecue, there will be Budweiser in souvenir pitchers and soft drinks for sale. In past years, there have been a number of drawings and activities. Also, vendors will have t-shirts, hats and more.
Rules:
Lawn chairs and blankets are allowed. Outside food and drinks, pets, professional video or camera equipment and weapons are prohibited.
I'll be partaking of blues, BBQ and baseball tonight. Gonna be a fun night.
I've always enjoyed it when I've had the time to go.
However, tomorrow is LBT at Firelake. We don't usually devote two consecutive nights out to music.
