Thread: Top City Developments, 2008-2011

  1. Default Top City Developments, 2008-2011

I'm thinking of doing 1-3 blog articles ala David Letterman's Top 10s for the past 4 years. In outline form, this is what I've come up with so far, but I haven't thought it through completely, and I'd be glad to have your feedback. Note that in a developed form, it would not be presented in "outline" form but each item would have its own developed discussion. Anyway, here's what I've come up with so far but I could easily have left things out that should be included:

    2. Development of the Oklahoma City Arena and the Oklahoma City Thunder.
    3. Devon Tower & Related Developments (this would include Project 180 and Myriad Gardens).
    4. Developments on the Oklahoma River.
    5. Developments in the Health Sciences Center.
    6. Developments in Midtown.
    7. Developments East of the Santa Fe Tracks North of Bricktown.

    9. Developments in Bricktown.
    10. Developments in Film Row District.
    11. Development of Outlet Mall on I-40 & Council Road.
    12. Development of Classen Curve.

    Oklahoma City's 2008-2011 Top 9 Possible Developments That Talked-The-Talk But Haven't Yet Walked-The-Walk.

    1. SandRidge Campus Development.
    2. Preftake's Holdings Between Hudson & Walker, Sheridan to Main.
    3. Center of the American Indian and Cultural Center.
    4. MAPS 3 Projects.
    5. Core To Shore.
    6. Mercy Development in Midtown.
    7. Skydance Pedestrian Bridge.
    8. Centennial Park (east of Civic Center Music Hall).
    9. Compass Rose Proposal for Centennial Park.

Oklahoma City's 2008-2011 Top 6 List of Oklahoma City Political Developments.

    1. Decision to Improve Oklahoma City Arena & Build an NBA Practice Facility.
    2. Decision to Approve MAPS 3.
    3. Committee For Oklahoma City Momentum.
    4. City Council Elections in 2011.
    5. Alliance for Economic Development of Oklahoma City.
    6. Post-2011 Council Election Developments.

Again, these thoughts are in their beginning stages, and could easily change before this project is done.

    Input is invited.

I sorta expected something about the Plaza District, too.

    Doug,

It's not totally within your time frame but the MAPS for KIDS is ongoing and certainly a very important development to OKC's wellbeing.
