Better than Dairy Queen!

The tip of the year was the post that said Lion's Choice was better than Dairy Queen. I had never given one thought to the Lion's Choice sign at a convenience store (I-44 and Penn in OKC, Danforth and Boulevard in Edmond) even though I had heard their roast beef was good. Their ice cream is good and they have frozen custard (better than Freddy's and much cheaper)! This chain is out of St. Louis, home to Ted Drewes famous frozen custard. I was really impressed, not with the c-store surroundings but good, cheap ice cream/frozen custard. You really can learn a lot from OKC Talk!

Thanks! I was the one who suggested it and still stand firmly behind my opinion. Glad you discovered this hidden gem. There is also one in Edmond at Danforth and Boulevard/Broadway, and building one in MWC (but it may be open by now).

What in the world does it have to do with Dairy Queen? They're not at all similar, so there's nothing to compare. I can kind of maybe see a comparison between LC and Freddy's Frozen Custard (because they both have custard), but I don't get the Dairy Queen comparison.

I didn't go to Lion's Choice for a long time because I thought it was an oriental place (just by the name). Lions are often found in oriental decor and the choice part sounded like just another oriental buffet. Oriental not being my favorite quisine (sp?), I passed. Got a flier and found out otherwise.

Because as the title says, it's better than DQ, the food is way better, and the custard, or as they call it ice cream, is way better than DQ's ice-cream, and much cheaper! You can get a junior dipped cone for 29 cents.
