    Default 2011 Turkish Festival

It's that time of year again. It's on May 7th, not sure the times. It's at 4444 NW Classen. That's all I know, but wanted to put the info out there.

I've never been to this one, but I went to one in Boston, which was quite large of course. It was pretty fun and very interesting. When you get more information, let us know. I'd like to check it out.

I probably won't get more info, they've been doing it a few years here, just saw the signs along Classen and wanted to post.

The only thing I know about the Turkish festival is that every year metro gets to announce it.

At least someone is posting these cultural festivals, otherwise I'm afraid most of them wouldn't get posted, considering how soon I post them to the actual event. And then people like you and OKCNDN would keep complaining OKC has no diversity.

Larry, not really unfortunately, I just remember them year after year and also see the illegally placed yard signs in medians. Too bad they don't promote these events the right way with print ads, press releases, and a website, they could really explode if they would get it to the masses.

I went last year. It's a pretty small event, maybe a hundred people were there. They sell Turkish food and have some other things available for viewing/buying as well. If you are interseted in Turkish culture, it's worth a look.
