Thread: Purple Martini

    Bricktown3 Purple Martini

Noticed this morning significant amount of work taking place in Bricktown along Sheridan.

Appeared to be the interior finish out for the building directly east of Wormy Dog Saloon (315 East Sheridan). Workers were also delivering and setting the roof top HVAC equipment.

This space has been vacant for 2 or 3 years, I believe the for sale / lease sign was no longer out front either.

What's the word on the Street?

Didn't that used to be BAR OKC?

No, This new space has never had a tenant. There was an old building located here once and it was demolished 3 or 4 years ago, (I believe there was some controversy with the demo) to make way for the building in the picture.

This is located between Wormy Dog and Club Albee.

Definitely something is going in here. Building interior walls only happens upon a tenants request / needs.

A building permit was issued a month ago for $40,000 for a bar/tavern to be called the Purple Martini.

The purple martini is hiring on craigslist, so they will probably be opening soon. Says to be an upscale jazz.blues, reggae club open wed-sun.

...heard from a friend that changes are coming soon to Rooster's.

Not really at liberty to say anything further at this time...

I like Rooster's. It's a good place to grab some chicken and a beer before Thunder games. Maybe they're doing something to the exterior or adding outside seating or something because if I didn't live in the area I would never even notice that the place is open for business the way it is kind of hidden...

Really?? I hope they are not closing. I have been meaning to try this place. I like the concept of Eischens but I don't want to drive halfway to Kingfisher and the food is frankly overrated, so I was hoping something closer to home could fill the void.

Could you at least say if your info is good or bad in your opinion?

...having never been to Rooster's -- I've got nothing (totally agree with you about Eischens though!). If you have been meaning to try Rooster's, all I can really say is 'try it'.

However, knowing the parties involved and some details -- it's very good news, in my opinion.

The Purple Martini is set to open tomorrow, Wednesday Sept. 7th according to their Facebook page.

They describe themselves as an "upscale jazz/blues/reggae nightclub".

I wonder if this is gonna be comparable to Makers, or if it's gonna be a totally different beast.
