They have to charge those high prices for blood or they couldn't pay the directors salary.
Kinda like the farmers selling their product. They get so little but it costs us so much when we go to buy it.
I donated on Monday when the call went out ahead of the snow storm. The wife can't (only weighs 99 pounds). Anyone know how soon after donating you can donate again? I'm surprised they didn't tell me, but they were pretty busy.

OBI will get another hit with this week's storm, so the already-critical need increases. I gave blood Saturday, my wife goes later today. It's YOUR turn, especially if you have O-negative. Why O-neg? It's the universal donor blood type, and preemies are big users - in many cases there isn't time to type & cross their blood, so NICU staff grab for O-negative because they know it will work. If that's YOUR type, PLEASE go.
