Little river Zoo closed its doors to the public

I loved this zoo, i have not been in a couple years. did it go downhill, what happened, i thought they where growing and expanding???

From their website, it looks as if they are making improvements. Not so sure though, they seem to be pretty desperate for cash given the several pleas on their site. ..

yeah i noticed that, i wonder if it had anything with a kid who got hurt (attacked by a animal) about a year or so ago it was on the news

I have no special knowledge, but I was under the impression, perhaps mistaken, they did not open to visitors in the winter because it costs more to be open to accommodate foot traffic than they could ever realistically hope to bring in.

well i know they said with the park closed to visitors its hurts them more since there is no extra income (admission prices)

I visited there last in March '09 with a couple friends. I enjoyed it! Sad to see that it has closed. That same week I visited Tiger Safari, and certainly Little River Zoo was my favorite of the two.
