I'm a recovering Catholic and an agnostic. Having been raised in the Catholic culture in the days before and after the Second Vatican Council I acquired a fondness for the Latin language, second only to Spanish in it's spoken beauty.
That being said, I am offering this video to all of you, regardless of your faith or lack of it. This is a carol from the 16th century and I believe is prettier than "Adeste Fidelis"
The chorus translates:
"Rejoice, rejoice,
Christ is born
of the Virgin Mary,
rejoice!"
I'm not proselytizing or trying to stir up a controversy, I just wanted to share what I believe to be a beautiful carol with all of you.
Merry Christmas, Seasons' Greetings, Happy Holidays, Superb Saturnalia, Happy Hanukkah, Felicitous Kwanzaa, or Gratuitous Consumer Orgy to everyone!
