Default Plaza District getting 2 new restaurants

Been meaning to post this for a long while, but I've been staying off the site due to the nasty virus that plagued the site, and the birth of my child. Anyhow, the chef of Bin 73 will be opening a new restaurant this fall in Plaza District (still working on menu, etc.). The Plaza District is also heavily pursuing other restaurant operators to fill another space in the Plaza District. This area is really coming along rapidly.

Congratulations on the arrival of your child! Is this a first or simply the newest model? Again Congratulations and welcome back!!! Thanks also for the post, the plaza district is certainly one to watch and I think just to the layout and its inherent cool factor will be a force to reckon with for years to come! I have serious High hopes for that area!

Do you now what the general them or flavor the yet to be named restaurant will be?

The virus that hit the site went so far as to effect the birth of your child? Holy crap, I knew it was bad, but I had no idea it was that bad. Hope the little one's okay.

I have never heard of Plaza District. Anyone care to mention where it is located? Thanks.

Yes Plaza District is on NW 16th street, just west of Classen all the way to Penn. Great little up and coming area with hip places like Cafe Evoke, Table One, Velvet Monkey Salon, some guatemalan restaurants, Bad Granny's, Lyric Theatre, Collected Thread, a tattoo shop, and a few other cool hip places and growing. They have monthly arts and concert events and also have a big annual festival.

Hmmmm. I'm familiar with where the area is--now that you mention it. But I've never been there with all these new places. Most interesting.

I live in the neighborhood, and I am REALLY glad there will finally be a place to eat. It has been noticeably missing.

What do you mean? I thought there were two Guatemalen places, Table One and that gluten free restaurant already?

There are a couple of dining choices, but not very good ones, IMO. I just moved to the neighborhood so that's good news for me.

Better news about the kiddo. Congrats!

Have the hipsters started moving in to the Classen 10 Penn neighborhood yet? Or is it still unsafe?

A few but not many, it's still sketchy, but super affordable for lots of space.

It depends on how you define hipsters. If a hipster is someone that packs a knife or gun on their hip then yeah, they are represented well.

    j/k

Bin 73 had a chef. I have drank many many drinks there but never thought the food was even worth mentioning.

    Where is Table One?

They are currently working out of Cafe Evoke until they get their own space elsewhere. It's top notch though. Definitely an experience you can only get in a handful of cities (NYC, Chicago, S.F., LA).
