new IHOP in Norman

Norman is getting an IHOP on the east side. It's already under construction at 12th & Robinson in the parking lot area of the Kongo's gym (or whatever the gym is called these days). Signs are already up, but construction is just now starting. Not sure when it will open.

I was always wishing that they would end up doing that. Now maybe the one on the west side won't be so busy all the time.

IHOP is OK but doesn't compare to some of the late night diners I visited with my fraternity brothers back in the 60's. There were locations on Porter on the east side and on Lindsey on the west side which we named "Sweaty Betty's" and "Fat Evelyn's". And of course there was the legendary Dencos.
