My favorite names are my daughters': Margot and Molly. I also like Lucy, Sophie, Nell (Eleanor), Tess. I like them short.
betts...I tend to agree...short names are the way to go. Thanks for your reply!
Id try to come up with a name that means something to me. Like Patricia (my mother). I always liked Indie, and Jessica as well. I know this sounds trivial, but try the names in conjunction with her last name. ie Jessica wouldnt go well with a last nae of Bessie. Congrats if you are expecting!!
I LOVE Brooke Lynne. She can go by Brooke or Lynne.
We are having a girl this December and we are going with Ava.
Thanks for the great ideas....Ava and Brooke were names on our short list too.
I like a lot of those names. I don't like girls names that end in y or i. My name is Cynthia and I have never been Cindy (ever).
I love the name Hannah. Unfortunately it doesn't go well with my last name, so I can never use it. I also like Megan for some reason... probably because I know some cool Megans.
I like traditional names, or names with some literary or historical significance. There's something cool about names that have been used for hundreds of years...
I usually hate boys' names on girls, but I think Stevie is cute, too.
Please, FTLOG, give her a real name, and spell it right. I'm sick of names like Kodi, Tayler, Kylie, Mikayla, Mickenzie, etc.
The best name is Emily. The rest of you can stop suggesting names.
The other day I heard on NPR that presidential last names are currently the new big thing in baby names:
Top Baby Name Trends of 2008 - Page1 - Family & Parenting - Your Life - MSN LifestyleAlthough European royal names such as Isabella, Elizabeth, and William have long reigned among tradition-minded parents, there's an American equivalent gaining in popularity. Presidential names - famous surnames of popular presidents used as first names. Jackson, Carter, and Grant are in the lead for boys and Madison, Kennedy, and Reagan are in the lead for girls. On the rise: Lincoln and Jefferson, and Clinton is in the top 1000.
I would have to go with Allison or Velouria, but then again I'm a huge Pixies fan.
I would have to say mine is Abigail or you can always call her Abby.
Olivia, Ella, or Macy
Shelby
Some of my favorites: Alana (Lanie), Lacy, Abigail (Abby), Isabella (short-?), Hannah, Sarah, and always Emily.
Mods - Please don't ban me for this one. I'm working late and am a little punchy. I received it as an email last week.
Mother is upset because no-one can pronounce her daughter's name. It's spelled La-A.
"La-Aye?" Nope.
"La-Ah?" Not that either.
"La-uh?" Definitely not.
Mom explained, "It's pronounced 'La-Dash-Ah' because the dash don't be silent."
So long everyone. It's been fun.
Emery - a most excellent name for a most excellent grandbaby
Amy Lynn
If you're into exotic..I like this name for some reason.. Keaira (Key r uh) ..... years ago I told my sister in law I loved that name and if I had a girl I wanted to use it ( I was pregnant at the time but ended up having a miscarriage) guess what she named her daughter?
" You've Been Thunder Struck ! "
How about Avery or Delaney? don't know, but just like the way they sound and aren't "too" different
My good friends in CA named their two daughters Emily and Abigail and their son Brady.
" You've Been Thunder Struck ! "
Thanks for the ideas!!!!
Eddie and Misty
Mercy.
Katherine (Kate or Katie).
I also like Hannah, Sarah and Tess.
My dog's name is Jezebel. I love that name but I am not sure I'd give that name to a little girl.
Liliana.
