Thread: Rainforest Cafe in Bricktown

    Default Rainforest Cafe in Bricktown

It would be great if bricktown could get a rainforest cafe, any rumors of a entertainment or themed restaurant place going in?

I read on another board that a Coyote Ugly is coming to Bricktown.

And right after I typed this up I noticed the exact thread in this forum. Awesome!

I always thought a Rainforest Cafe would be a good fit down on the canal. Would be a kinda fun vacation restaurant.

I like that. Let's get one of every chain whose drawing power peaked sometime in the late nineties.

Sounds like a good idea to me. I'd never heard of Rainforest Cafe before so I looked it up. Rainforest Cafe® Bricktown could use some diversity and something like this would work well on the canal. I was hoping for a great wolf lodge myself, Indoor Waterpark Resort - Family Vacations at Indoor Water Parks - Great Wolf Lodge but with the amount of new hotels in Bricktown I doubt there'll be room for/or a need for one now. Rainforest cafe would definitely fit better.

I know that there are probably a multitude of legals reasons why we can't, but I'd like to see a casino downtown. The closest to me (Lucky Star) is a dump compared to Riverwind or Fire Lake. I'm sure the urbanites here wouldn't appreciate it though.

I'm all for it. In fact that's probably one of the only ways someone could actually buy a building in Bricktown for the prices they're asking, pay to renovate it, and still make any money. An urban casino. Bring it.

I like the RainForest idea! That would be something different, and I think people would travel down there to visit.

Molly Murphey's would kind of be cool too.

Hard Rock Cafe please! Then we've hit it big time!

Rainforest Cafe was charging $15 for a worse-than-Olive-Garden plate of fettucini (chicken cost extra) about 11 years ago. I've eaten at a couple of them a few times, and have never been impressed with the food or the prices.

I'd be totally on board with that. I loved that place. Add a bar opening to the canal and that place would be packed.

One of the worst places I have ever had the misfortune to eat at.

    Overpriced terrible food.

I have been to the katy texas rainforest, las vegas rainforest, disneyland rainforest, all three of them where excellent, th food is normal food, you pay for the atmosphere, which is really fun, my kids love it when the thunderstorm starts and the rainforest animals move.. Also I have never had a problem with the service at rainforest at all three i have been two a couple of them more than once I have had good service and like i said the food is not gourmet but its not fast food either, It will do great in bricktown, I would also love if molly murphys reopened...

How about one of those places where the waitstaff is supposed to be rude to the customers... I forgot what it's called, but I think that would be fun too.

Lots of places around the country have that (as an intentional hook anyway). Dick's Last Resort is probably the most popular one.

I agree. Dick’s Last Resort A large group of friends of mine were in San Diego last year for a bowling tournament and we stopped in there for lunch one afternoon. It was a blast and something we still talk about when we get together. The attitude displayed by our waitress was infectious and after feeling a little akward at the begining we all got into it and started flinging remarks right back at her. If you ask for a napkin, she'd throw a whole roll of paper towels at you; if you asked for more tea she'd set it on the table next to yours and tell the other patrons what a crybaby you were, and to please pass it to you. Some other people couldn't get into it and they got up and left, so it's not for everyone.

A quote from their website: 'From Rug-rats to Old Farts, from High-Class to No-Class, from the Top of the Food Chain, to the Bottom of the Barrel, it’s FUN FOR ALL AND ALL IN FUN FOR THOSE WHO DARE TO ENTER! Sit back and watch, or join in the fun. Dick’s has always been known for its outrageous, surly, energetic waitstaff who inflict humor upon our guests. Our atmosphere makes everyone feel like they’re temporarily breaking all the rules…and getting away with it."

I'd go for Molly's as well....lotta good times there when I was younger. Theres a poll on their website asking where a new Mollys should be located. Molly Murphy's Website of Fine Repute

Molly's is the same concept and local. It would be great to have a Molly's revival.

Either way, places like this are always going to cater more to tourists and out-of-towners. No one goes to Hard Rock, Bubba Gump's, Planet Hollywood, or Rainforest Cafe for the food. They go for the atmosphere and so they can say they went there. They buy the shirts to prove it. It's an interesting phenomenon.

I think a Dave and Busters would be good. It is an adult Chucky Cheese.

I have been to rainforest every chance i get, I have never bought a t-shirt, I have also been to 2 different bubba gumps a couple times ea and never bought a shirt, the food at gumps, well at least what i ordered was pretty good, if they build it in bricktown i would go, its a night out, i mean common chilenos cost a average 13 dollars a person for dinner. buffets are getting to be 10 plus for dinner. I ate at rainforest a couple months ago and it costed around 15.00 a person there is a lot onthere menu from 10.99-18.99 for adults...But you are correct tourist has to make a themed restaurant happen, i just think since bricktown is getting a coyote uglys and the nba fans will be running around before and after games, and the ever growing downtown living and future planned development we need soemthing like this in downtown..

I would agree with something like that. I have always wanted to play some Skee Ball after a few cocktails.
