Thread: Oklahoma Today OKC Special Issue

  1. Default Oklahoma Today OKC Special Issue

A wonderful special issue of Oklahoma Today (Sept/Oct 2008) is on sale at newstands ... it is definitely a keeper and at only $4.95 you can send copies to our cousins up the pike, or to your granny in Dallas, or whatever.

I've scanned several of the pages of this issue and posted them here: Doug Dawgz Blog: Oklahoma Today OKC Special Issue

Here are a couple ... some of the photography is absolutely stunning.

Dangit Doug, you beat me to it, I was going to post this one for you. As you know there are LOTS of cool advertisements and history facts in this issue. I was impressed with the ads from the Chamber and other agencies. I also picked up a cool OKC magazine (forget the name, will post it later) at Full Circle yesterday that is similar to this but with more a modern/hip flair.

Are you talking about Venue? It's put out by TierraGroup. Very nice. Cool graphics.

Yes it's a very cool issue, with lots of great new ads. Anyone notice the new logo for DowntownOKC Inc.?

I thought the cover was amazing - really set the tone for the entire issue and fabulous contents. It was fun picking out all the landmarks from the key given.

Where exactly can you get this? I want it. Wal-mart anyone? ;]

Also, the one found in Full Circle, is that available anywhere else? These type of articles make me happy. lol

I doubt Wal-mart would have it, but you should be able to find it at any bookstore. Waldenbooks, Barnes & Noble, Borders. Full Circle would definitely have it. I'm sure Taylor's Newsstand downtown as well.

I was told by an Oklahoma Today staffer that it just now arriving on newsstands. It will be in most stores beginning Tuesday through Friday of next week.

Example: Target, Homeland, Wal-Mart, Barnes & Noble, Borders, etc. I was at Border's today and they still had last month's issue.

It is sold on newsstands statewide.

I got my copy in the mail today. After flipping through, my fingers were itching to grab a change of address form, but I must desist and be patient. I still have fish to fry here in Texas.
    Continue the Renaissance!!!

I saw tons of the mag in Taylor's downtown.

Went in to get some Oreo's and a Gatorade to share with my daughter.

The older gentleman who works in the store is really, really nice! My daughter is 17 months old and he entertained her by quacking and doing the "duck routine." I told him that my wife does theatre practice downtown on Tues & Thurs and that I'd be sure to come and get more snacks. Promising a return he assured my daughter, "I have more than one routine."

    Heh heh. Cool guy.

Not me. I bought a print of it for my office.

Clint Stone is a very talented local artist. I think you can buy some of his originals at Blue 7.

Clint has signed some of the cover posters, too. I think it's awesome! Did you notice Wayne Coyne down there on the Water Taxi with the tan suit and the megaphone? And a pink robot from Yoshimi no doubt!
