I NEED some excellant bbq ribs, HELP!
Bob's on Broadway in Ada, just south of their airpark
Red Zone in Norman, on West Lindsey in the Sooner Legends and Suites hotel, just east of where W. Lindsey crosses I-35
Van's in Norman, on N. Porter, 1/2 or so south of where E Robinson crosses Porter
Leo's in OKC, at 3631 N Kelly
I'm sure there are some other places that are more than passable north of I-240, but none are immediately coming to mind
I love ribs and usually enjoy IRON Starr's ribs!!
Steve's Rib rocks when it comes to ribs, even tho im a vegetarian.. back in my carnivorous days when I used to eat there..
Van's also has a location on 4th Street in Moore, just east of Telephone Rd. Those are the only ribs I can eat w/o any BBQ sauce. Had some this past Friday night and they were fallin' off the bone. Truly delicious!
Plus, they're running a special right now, $9.99 for a slab.
Van's Pig Stands - Bar-B-Q Restaurant and Bar-B-Q Sauces and Spices.
Another vote for Van's Pig Stand. We ate ribs there last night and it was great!
Spencer's BBQ is my favorite.
McRib at McDonalds. There's probably one near you. But I don't know if they're making McRibs right now.
Steve's in Edmond.
JT's in Del City
I would go with Leo's and Bob's in Ada, however, I am fairly certain that Bob's sold and is currently not open...
Oklahoma Station or Leo's would be a good choice. I went to Iron Starr recently and had their ribs and was not impressed. I guess I enjoy dives but their food was pretty average for the price.
Charleston's has some awesome baby back ribs. Awesome.
I was just talking about that the other day with mom. The problem with McDonalds is that their space is so limited and small, they take turns on special promotional treats. I dunno when McRib will be back, but it will soon, whenever they get done with current promotional treats.
Sorry to be disagreeable but the whole notion of mentioning McRib in a need excellent ribs thread is like calling pressed and formed deli ham with water a whole hog. It just ain't right
McRib is actually BBQ'ed pork in the shape of rib. lol
Pappy's at Reno and May is certainly tolerable. I've taken friends there and they've liked it.
Well, let me put it this way: I like it. But I know some people are looking for more of an 'upscale dining concept,' and Pappy's is basically a rib shack.
I've mellowed a bit over the years, but for a very long time I was firmly convinced if a recommended bbq joint's exterior appeared to be a nice looking place to dine out, it likely was not one of the better bbq spots in the county.
I've found a few exceptions to that rule in recent years, but only a few.
