I read here some time back of the movie theater that was slated to be erected in the recently (well, not so recently I guess) razed field at said location. Does anyone know how that's coming, or if it's coming at all?

I believe Warren was looking to build there, but he then focused his attention to building it in Moore.
To my knowledge the whole deal has been scrapped. The people who lived in the neighborhood pitched behind the theater site pitched a fit. I believe the developer is reworking the plans for that area.
Understandable, that. I might've guessed that the very well advertised (with good reason, as I hear!) Warren Theatre took its place.
I guess if I wanted to read about said opposition, I could search the minutes for the relevant Planning Commission meeting online?
It would seem highly implausible, seeing as there is already a AMC 24 very close and a new Dickinson going up right by it. More than saturated...
I don't know about the new Dickinson unless you mean Yukon but the IMAX will anchor QSV instead, be open in a year or two. Don't hold your breath.
Don't hold my breath about what?
The IMAX at QSV is a Dickinson, and it's clearly further along than any possible theatre at MacArthur and Memorial.
QSV will take 10 years for build-out so don't hold your breath.
And I'm deeply saddened to hear that the IMAX at QSV is a Dickinson.
