i don't think that it should be national headline news. I saw it on my yahoo page yeseterday and was saddened by what hopefully won't turn into a new trend with CHILDREN. but seeing it as like TOP NEWS was a bit much.

Although I wont say I am not slightly demented..I do have my oddities as we all do but I never thought, said or implied any of the Spears' are on any sort of public assistance...I was more speaking about the probable majority of girls that get pregnant at that age...although most times an accident it's all fun and games until somebody gets hurt or pregnant.

I think kids are being told and taught all the wrong things about being sexually active. The message seems to consist of "Do not have sex until your married, oh by the way if you do please use protection because you might conceive a child."

The rest a teen knows is based on our lovely world of internet porn.

Parents need to teach their kids the true facts of life. Teens need to know just how complicated life can be when a child is conceived especially when one parent decides to bail. They need to know life can turn into hell real quick when the doctor tells you that you have an STD and you have it for life.

I am afraid the end result of this situation is going to be many, many, many teens thinking it is perfectly okay if they get pregnant. They will look at in the light of "Jaime Lynn Spears did okay so will I" "Besides there is always public assistance if I or my parents cannot support the baby."

I wish parents everywhere would start enforcing responsibilities when they give their kids privileges. It seems all parents ever do is provide access to all the privileges in the world and clean up the mess when their kids screw up.

If continue to do that what happens when you die or become incapacitated to the point that you cannot clean up the mess?
