A nice place to work — The Scientist says so
The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center has been named one of the nation's Best Places to Work in Academia by The Scientist magazine.

The OU Health Sciences Center was ranked No. 30 among the nation's top 40 Places to Work in Academia in the November issue of the magazine.

Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston was the top-ranked institution.

According to the magazine, OU's strengths are listed as "infrastructure and environment,” along with "research resources.”

"We are very pleased, but not surprised, to be among these very prestigious institutions in The Scientist's Top 40 Places to Work,” said Joseph J. Ferretti, senior vice president and provost at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.

"We are committed to the expansion of excellence in research, patient care and medical education, and this designation is one of many examples of our efforts being rewarded.”

Other institutions rounding out the top 10 are the National Cancer Institute-Frederick in Maryland, No. 2; Clemson University, No. 3; Purdue University, West Lafayette, Inc., No. 4; Trudeau University, N.Y., No. 5; St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, No. 6; The J. David Gladstone Institutes, San Francisco, No. 7; University of Nebraska, Lincoln, No. 8; University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, No. 9; and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston, No. 10.
