Thread: What if Coyne and Hoffman partnered up?

Default What if Coyne and Hoffman partnered up?

I was pondering, with all the recent local success and publicity Wayne Coyne and the Flaming Lips have finally got around here in OKC, what if the city, chamber of commerce, and/or Downtown OKC Inc. was able to use that towards OKC's advantage and partner up with The Lips and Matt Hoffman and come up with some publicity campaign as well as a large event? How about an extreme sports festival with the Lips as the headliner band playing?

    Any other ideas?

Yeah...Replace The Flaming Lips with Winger.

I prefer to keep the Lips underground and doing what they are known for doing. No need to sell them out for some money to move into okc.

Use Hinder ...they seem to not have a problem doing whatever it takes to make a buck.

Winger needs to stay in the 80's back where they belong. Hinder hasn't done much for Oklahoma that I know of other than be from here. The Lips have an international following and would draw people to OKC from all over the world like they did for their famous zoo concert.

Exactly my point. Because they are getting all this attention now, how can we use that to make Oklahoma City look good - blah blah blah. Just another example of hurry up and wait for somebody to get famous then let's see how we can capitalize on it. It makes me sick.

Question: What do The Flaming Lips have to do with "x-treme" sports?

    Answer: Nothing.

Let's try to keep it that way.

BTW, Mat Hoffman only has one 't' in his name.

I like Hinder and I'm not afraid to admit it. I also love All American Rejects. Any band that still employs a heroin chic lead singer from Oklahoma is A-OK in my book. Rock on skinny dudes. Rock on.
